The idea that every picture is made up of a lot of tiny little units has always fascinated me. But the disadvantages of the digital raster graphics, their limited color palette and size made me look for new ways. For my art objects, I take over some of the essential properties of the pixels. The mostly square form, the often identical distance of the elements to one another and the most important: An image becomes a unit, which is composed of many smaller units. A further dimension is achieved by projecting individual parts out of the pixel installation and thus the image to the viewer seems to go. A play of light and shadow emerges, which draws the viewer's eye into the picture. What is new is that these small elements are not volatile electronic impulses but square, painted or painted objects, made of wood or metals, which I attach on a likewise painted plate.
