About The Artwork

This is a mixed-media three dimensional collage densely packed with various elements of design, textures, shapes, form, color and line. There are numerous shapes that resemble cartoonish puzzle faces that I put together myself in a long process, intermixed with geometric patterns. The puzzle faces I left pieces out of were my negative character symbolisms for my broken life or absent pieces to living a whole purposeful life. Among these elements, there are recognizable objects such as a 'CAUTION' tape segment and other textual elements including different numbers. Some parts of the collage are raised, giving the piece a three-dimensional quality, while embedded objects such as a key and a ring contribute to the tactile diversity. Several elements extend beyond the main rectangular boundary of the composition, which was my overt doing, so that the viewer of the piece could feel a never ending process in my life and in my art. The placement of the objects I chose for the piece create a sense of movement and chaos. The effect is all my overt chaotic energies, with an undercurrent of complexity and depth-that's Sharon..... The piece is a visual representation of the first step in N.A. towards my realization of an unmanageable life and honestly realizing its challenges. This piece shows the unique aspects of a lady who grappled with deep personal torment. "Chaotic Reflections of Step One" is an art piece I created to show and portray a time in my life when things felt unmanageable. It also explores themes of addiction and recovery that proved to be too much for me to overcome at the time without help from my fellow N.A. friends, namely Steve... Through this step, I was able to embrace change and move onto Step 2 in N.A.. Without the above explanation of my art piece I really don't think people would understand my work much. But, this was the closest way I knew to express my feelings at that time in my life.

I have been a creative artist since the age of four when I would sit at my mother's coffee table and do Play-Doh and crayons. I went to Anderson college in Indiana and Arizona State University in Tempe Arizona studying art. After my children were grown and moved out of the house I have picked up my art again with full force trying to see what kind of experimental art I can create. I have met a lot of artists through the journey of my artistic career. Please feel free to contact me at 512-201-9693 I am negotiable on all my art work. Thanks for viewing!
