This eclectic and imaginative collage honors Madame Curie's extraordinary achievements. A pioneer with a legacy of 'firsts,' she was the initial woman to win a Nobel Prize in Physics and the only person to win a second in Chemistry. She made history as the University of Paris's first female professor and made groundbreaking discoveries, including the elements polonium and radium. Madame Curie introduced the term "radioactive" and her discovery that radium could target cancer cells paved the way for today's radiation therapy. Her remarkable intellect, bravery, and determination to triumph in the male dominated world of science blazed the trail for other great women to follow.
