About The Artwork
Hike on the path of the ancestors between the bays of Cook and Opunohu on the island of Moorea. This walk crosses a mape forest (cousin of the chestnut tree), sacred trees in Polynesian culture with oversized aerial roots. When I cross a small stream, the murmur of its runoff in mini-waterfalls around the roots challenges me. I then take a moment to observe and listen to the nature around me. The birds chirp, the water sings, the falling leaves chant the passage of time and the trees seem to maintain a dialogue. I will remain fascinated for a long time by this magical moment in harmony with nature. As usual I opt for sand (natural and colorful) as a medium that I stick on polyphane. Once laid, the sand is permanently glued. Then I spray 3 layers of varnish artist as protection. It is a unique work, signed on the front. The polyphane allows to ship the work rolled in a tube (less than 2kg).

Self-taught, creator of sand paintings on polyphane. After being introduced to different painting and pastel techniques, touch, manipulate the material fascinates me, inspires me and awakens my sensitivity. In the end, it is with the sand that I choose to express myself. It is through him and with him that I share my favorites. The rock, the coral thus find a new life, another vibration after centuries of erosion and sleep. I use natural sands without depriving myself of the sands that I color or that I buy in the trade already colored.Technically, when the sand is laid, it is glued. It is impossible to resume or retouch. It is therefore my first interpretation that lies on the polyphane, the very essence of my choices, my interpretations and my emotions of the moment. My eyes are everywhere, it only takes a few things to make me want to create: a look, a smile, a movement, a light, colors, shapes, vegetation according to the seasons, the sea, the ocean, the marine world, etc. I do not impose any filter, except my feeling.
