'Inspiration Recycled' Collage

When I work in the intimate process of painting, it is a matter all the time of making decisions of what to paint, where and how to organize my composition, what colors work together to emphasize my concept, highlighting a certain degree of texture, structure, balance, contrast, tension, when to stop applying my paints, when it feels done and I have communicated through my materials and medium enough. In the normal routine and pattern of mixing my colors before using my brushes, etc. I am usually using pop sticks to circulate the flow and texture of my paints, and as I go from one chosen color to the next, I spontaneously throw aside each stick, not caring about how they are set aside next to me or pile up on my work table. In the moment that I finished my last painting, a diptych, I came to the ‘light bulb’ moment of realization, and saw my haphazard, nonchalant, spontaneously- driven placement and discarding of the differently assorted pop sticks piled up in a certain collage arrangement in a different light or venue.Their free arbitrary formation became for me as a separate, complete work of art that could stand for itself, inspired by their reuse, transformed, recycled and complete as a new, independent creative art form.
