This piece is inspired by “Love”.
The symbol of love is a Heart and here I wanted to create a romantic piece of art. The power of love is incredible and without it life would be empty. I wanted to evoke the fragility of love by using paper as here using magazine cuttings. I hope the viewer feels uplifted by this pice. A floating frame has been used setting off the deep edged canvas inside. The painting is signed both on the front and back and is strung ready for hanging.

I was born in Wrexham and grew up on a sheep and dairy farm in the pretty Welsh borders. I work from a beautiful studio in the picturesque location of Erbistock. I had a formal art training and after graduating I moved to Stockholm, Sweden looking after two young children. On my return after a variety of jobs, I started working with Dunoon Ceramics producing coffee mug designs which sell all around the world. I have received various awards for my designs on tableware. My paintings are created out of my passion for art, colour, animals and pattern. They speak for me in a language of their own without the use of words. I tend to work in acrylics and water based paint. I often work in a sporadic and spontaneous way applying paint quickly. I want my paintings to inspire joy, beauty and happiness and like music I hope they soothe the soul. My favourite artists include, David Hockney, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, LS Lowry, Edgar Degas, Mark Rothko and Canaletto.
