Series of various pillow cases in indian silk from the 1950´s. Each art piece was ripped by the artist and recycled to create beautiful and deep coloured artworks. New technique was used by Tim Madeira - introduction of white glue and brown ink on to a plastic industrial bag to give the shredded silk a rigid consistency and net like pattern. on this working support, was applied the collages and acrylics to bring to the surface the material elements of the plastic bag. What was once a silk pillow case, is now a blue print of a contemporary commercial product.

Portugal
Being an artist is a necessity since i was a little boy. I always drew and painted anywhere, and i would offer specially to my grandmother. Even in the bath tub i used to mix materials and pigments and create different concoctions in the water. Painting is part of my ADN. So every material that i can reuse/use/recycle or avail is always a motive to produce an art work. My style is mainly abstract because it allows me to be absolutely free and explore infinitely all the material potentials. The stain accident guides me into my work process. My favorite mediums are water based paint, resine coats, crayons and graffiti. I also adore to do collaborative work with other artists where i can have the sensation of work layers, different inspiration approaches, etc... Mixed media, collages, acrylics (water based) on paper, canvas and fabric. I often do preparatory works on paper and canvas that are cut to patch in other backgrounds. - If one gets to describe the artist Tim Madeira in a sentence it would be: "Compulsive artist who can't leave anything undone. Tim devours and experiments his world as well as others world. He intervenes with everything that is at his reach. " António Alves da Costa (Photographer)
