This artwork has been produced to the highest standards and has been personally signed and dated by the artist. In my mind, Yinka Shonibare is a truly great artist. To quote Wikipedia, "Yinka Shonibare CBE, RA (born 1962) is a British-Nigerian artist living in the United Kingdom. His work explores cultural identity, colonialism and post-colonialism within the contemporary context of globalisation. A hallmark of his art is the brightly coloured Dutch wax fabric he uses." I find him inspirational on many levels. I included his words in this work, along with Oscar Wilde's quote (who Yinka Shonibare greatly admires): "Life imitates art far more than art imitates life."
