About The Artwork

In this captivating watercolor and pencil composition, the title, "A Namesake of Five Hours of Waiting," sets the stage for a poignant exploration of time, perception, and the intricate tapestry of reality. The artwork features a woman seated with arms gracefully extended over the chair backs, her face rendered almost ethereal, obscured by lines emanating from her. The scene captures a suspended moment, evoking the essence of waiting. The elongated duration, as suggested by the title, weaves a narrative around the anticipation that transcends the physical act. The woman's posture becomes a visual representation of patience, where time stretches and contorts in the mind's eye. The subtle diffusion of the woman's face, obscured by emerging lines, introduces a fascinating interplay between reality and interpretation. It speaks to the elusiveness of perception — how the passage of time can alter our understanding of the present moment. The lines act as veils, suggesting that our perception may not always align with a straightforward description of reality. The woman, poised in her waiting, becomes a metaphor for the fluidity of time and the elusive nature of the present. "A Namesake of Five Hours of Waiting" invites viewers to contemplate the layers within waiting, the nuances of time, and the subjective nature of reality. It prompts reflection on how our perceptions, influenced by the passing hours, can transform the ordinary into something more profound. The artwork beckons us to recognize that, in the waiting, there exists a unique journey where time, reality, and perception converge in a delicate dance of interpretation.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
