About The Artwork

In this artwork, I've sought to capture the strength, national heritage and agility of the falcon, or "Al Hurr" as they are known to Emiratis, as well as the modern world and ancient world, with meticulous pencil strokes. Falcons and falconry have been entwined with Emirati culture for thousands of years and have been an integral part of Bedouin lives for many millennia. They embody strength and freedom ("Al Hurr" literally means 'free-bird) and are a testimony to both the raw beauty of the wild and the delicate dance of realism and expressionism. A fine detail in the falcon's eye, of the Burj Khalifa, acts as a link between these ancient birds and the new modern UAE, and really elevates this piece. Let its captivating gaze, beauty and strength bringing a powerful, inspirational presence into your home.
