I admire ancient civilizations, architecture and works of art. The subject here is the mask reliefs in the city of Aphrodisias. Aphrodisias or Aphrodisias is the common name of many ancient cities dedicated to the Goddess Aphrodite. The most famous of the cities named Aphrodisias (or Aphrodisias) is the Ancient Greek city located in the southwest of Anatolia, in the old Caria region, where the Geyre district of Aydın's Karacasu district is located today. It was moved to Geyre after the archaeological excavations started. Included in the World Heritage Tentative List by UNESCO in 2009, Aphrodisias was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2017. Mask and Garland Frieze Blocks from the ancient city of Aphrodisias The frieze blocks were recovered from the long stoas in the Ionic order surrounding the South Agora. The earliest examples belong to the north stoa dedicated to Emperor Tiberius (14-37 AD). Others were built in the 2nd century and later. Fruit garlands suspended between two masks were a popular motif in Aphrodisias. The masks show an impressive variety: the athlete, the hero, the god, and the standard characters used in ancient dramas are depicted. Masks and garlands evoke festivals and folk feasts.

I graduated from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile. In my business life, I turned to fashion design. I am still working on painting by combining my academic education with my long years of designer experience. Ancient civilizations, cities, nature and abstract subjects, which are among the historical riches of our country, occupy an important place in my watercolor and charcoal painting works. The details, together with the general harmony in the compositions, attract my attention and are effective in my works. With these works, I took part in various exhibitions and organizations. After the annoying pandemic process that affects us all, participation in these organizations and exhibitions is starting again professionally.
