About The Artwork
I was inspired by the Art Deco artists like Erte who made many illustrations for Harper Bazaar's woman's magazine. I created this series to show the different personalities of the Art Deco Woman laced with fur, earrings, pearl necklaces, bare shoulders, cropped hair, thin eyebrows, and hats. I would like to bring attention to this wonderful era that had women liberated with the freedom to dance, drink, smoke, wear knee length dresses and gowns, and dancing shoes - all to dazzle at parties and to be noticed by men.
