About The Artwork
This is a drawing of a rolled up chicken wire I found in a court yard. The transparent, moving shape, the hexagonal pattern letting the light through inspired me and I spent days, weeks drawing it. In this version, autumn leaves are trapped in it, blood red. I used pencil on cotton with a chalk ground to represent the lightness of the shapes and to keep it simple.
