About The Artwork
This pastel of an osprey is called Brakes On. It's the sibling of the mother that died from fishing line. The dad therefore had to bring up two hungry chick on his own. The locals at Hervey Bay would bring fish to the dad to ease the burden. It's the largest pastel I've completed on Clairefontaine Pastemat. The actual reference photo was taken at low tide so I added water and Fraser Island in the background.
