About The Artwork

I recently visited the National Museum in Oslo. I was very impessed by the painting Bridal Procession on the Hardanger (Norwegian: Brudeferd i Hardanger) that was painted in oil in 1848 by Hans Gude and Adolph Tidemand and wanted to draw a copy of this painting. The picture depicts the beautiful nature of Norway. In addition, I like the moment depicted in the picture - the wedding. This is a bright moment in life, which goes very well with the beauty of the surrounding nature. What also attracts is the life of the Norwegian people, their national costumes and traditions depicted in the picture. I hope I could at least to some extent display all the beauty of this wonderful painting.

Hello! My name is Olena Zhyhaltsova. I am 58 years old. I am from Ukraine, but due to some circumstances I moved to Norway in 2022. I have no art education, but I have been keen on painting since my childhood. I have painted mainly portraits of my friends and copies of old paintings. I didn't paint for a long period because I have a big family, I am married and have five children. Now as I came to Norway I started to paint again. I paint in the style of realism and photorealism. I am a self taught beginner and don't have any art education that's why I depict the object the way I see it and the way I can depict its form, color and character. I think that an artist that works in the style of realism necessarily reflects their own view of the depicted object and his vision of the world in their artworks. Here I bring to your attention some of my works that reflect my own vision of the world.
