About The Artwork

Born in Italy, Guglielmo Alfarone deals with the portrait through drawing and painting. He paints the youth in the contemporary society that gives rise to indifference. Many faces, alienated, frightened, in pain or outraged. The colors, almost monochrome, are dark and washed out, transparent and unfocused. Investigating his own background, the search draws the viewer in, screams at them with huge dimensions and demanding subjects with the figures portrayed staring intensely.

Born in Acquaviva delle Fonti, Italy, 22 November 1984. MA Degree in Visual Art, Painting, Academy of Fine Arts of Venice BA in New Tecnology of Arts, Painting, Academy of fine Arts of Venice Live and work in London I paint the uncomfortable position of youth, the rage, the fear, the indifference which often grind us down and contaminate us. I reveal these moments, emphasising them, almost obsessively, in order to investigate them, to reflect, to find within them a deeper truth.
