About The Artwork

"Five Charge Clouds" a geometric abstract painting made in 2019 by Amanda Andersen, initialed on the back. This was one of the first pieces that began a body of work inspired by ordinary object arrangements such as table-top still lives. The objects were simplified drastically into outlines, overlapping each other to form a unifying connection. This piece has a solid light green / sage background with thin outlined shapes in dark green, cloud blue, brown, burnt orange/ dark peach and black. This was all hand painted and none of the lines are perfectly straight, lending it character. Acrylic paint on white acid free, archival paper. Drawing is 40x50 cm (15.7 x 19.6 inches). Original will be shipped flat in a box from Hamburg. Artwork comes with the white frame pictured, ready to hang. The frame is made from solid wood and has an acrylic front.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, I make minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. My process is a repetition of addition and subtraction, pedaling between the abstract and figurative. Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, I also adore fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient. Sometimes I set my paintings in motion; I'm also an illustrator and animator creating works under digital pseudonym We Throw Rocks. Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe.
