I am interested in the human condition, how we feel and relate in the world, what systems control us and how we break free. Themes I explore are isolation, alienation and our relationship with others - humans, animals or plants. Also our relationship with the space that surrounds us. I have used performance and choreography to show these relstionships. I work primarily with portraiture, removing the background, lending an uncanny displaced quality, highlighting psychological themes of alienation or an intriguing connection with animals or plants. I find inspiration in nature, myth, legend, fairy tale, shamanism and art history.
