About The Artwork

A goblin is mithological being, a grotesque, monstrous creature often mentioned in Germanic and Norse myths. The hybrid portrait is part human and part animal. According to belief, goblins live in underground spaces, caves or hidden parts of the house. Depending on folklore and country of origin, goblins are attributed with different magical abilities and powers. This phantasmagoric portrait was created under the influence of Neo-expressionism. In this work, the artist deals with the problem of evil, creates from premonitions, nightmares and repressed restlessness. Anger and rage seem to emanate from the demonic nature of the drawing. Biting and hallucinatory graphics distort the character's physiognomy because the artist strives for freedom of expression, even if it takes the form of strangeness, chaos and monstrosity. The strange rhythm of wavy lines gives the composition dynamism, and fills the atmosphere of the picture with premonition of an impending, terrible disaster.

Serbian contemporary artist, designer and decorator. He is best known to the general public for his design works created in relation to artistic research from fine art to applied art (design) with the aim of problematizing and pointing out the absence of strict boundaries between them in contemporary artistic expression. These works are characterized by an interest in postmodernist ornamentalism and a mixture of historical styles taken from modern art. Various conflicting stylistic codes from the history of contemporary art allow mutual transformations. It is actually about artistic creativity that erases the boundaries and differences between high and popular art, between fine art and folk art.
