About The Artwork

Spodek (Katowice, Poland, international style of architecture) + coffee, moka pot, UFO. Genre: Veduta. Symbolism. Graphics. Black wooden frame, glass, acid-free matting. Kawowice is a simple play of words and symbols. But for me, it's not that simple. It is a graphic work that describes my very personal experiences. The artwork «Kawowice» is a direct continuation of the story told in the artwork «Świętochłotograph». Therefore, to some extent, these two works can be considered a diptych. I don't know if there will be collectors who will hang these two artworks together. I hope so! Just so you know, the correct placement would be «Świętochłotograph» first, followed by «Kawowice». «Świętochłotograph» is the story of creating a cafe, and «Kawowice» is the emotions associated with its closure. During that time, I returned to my old forgotten Moka pot. I only had coffee at home because I couldn't go to other cafes, especially to the place that used to be my cafe. But we (me and my wife Anastasia) were moving on and our thoughts were directed towards a new project in Katowice. All fell into place, time healed everything. Now, I visit cafes again with great interest :) The work is dedicated to all cafe owners in Katowice and throughout Silesia. From experience, we know how difficult it is to run a cafe in these turbulent times. We have immense respect for the people who are doing it. We encourage you to visit your favorite places more often. Only that will save them from disappearing from the Silesia map. By the author: "I dedicate a lot of time to improving my technique and skills. However, I have always believed and still believe that in a work of art, the concept and philosophy play a dominant role."
