About The Artwork

After a viscous storm on the fore-shore, the personifier sets to work, amassing shells. Pushing and pulling, he distributes them randomly until they begin to represent a human body. As they embed themselves in the wet sand he is able to create a 2 D representation. He gathers any detritus that suggests muscle, sinews and gristle and organs. Then he follows along the contours and gouges a roundness that will solidify and allow him to pick up a fully constructed and animated female. He then props her in a shell throne and admires his handiwork. The black skies however, are suggesting this may be a short lived victory.
