About The Artwork

Project ‘Please Like Me’ 2018 As an artist, being confronted with the phenomenon of an apparent tendency for getting approval on your work, your social media accounts, on whatever you do on the internet, in the form of likes. I read and see that this has an enormous impact on people: Being liked is the best. Forgetting that it’s almost always by persons you don’t know, even never heard of. Estranged – unsure – for sure it’s weird no? Peoples lives depend on it, young people fall out because they are not enough liked! It triggered my imagination to start a project on this subject: A series of large works on paper, trying to find the essence of what this phenomenon is about. (©)Riedstra

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Riedstra started drawing at a young age and in the following years, after finishing her education at St Martins, London (M.A. Scenography), she developed an authentic style, that characterises her as a professional artist, fully aware of the world she lives in and fully aware of how to respond to the estrangement she encounters in society. This being her point of departure. (Her extensive traveling and living abroad had a major impact on her view of the world) Her talent is being recognized and this gives her the opportunity to work freely, from within herself, without being bordered by what is agreeable and fashionable. As a photographer Riedstra uses this very same talent, the eye of the camera becoming her drawing tool so to speak. Her photographs were chosen for a major exhibition at the Louvre in Paris. Her works are in the collection of the City Museum in Tetovo, Macedonia, and Budapest. Several drawings from the Renaissance project were bought by private collectors in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, USA. Several paintings are in private collections.
