Embrace of the greats Picasso, Braque, Laurens meet Cubism born anew. This is a composite drawing based on four artworks exhibited in the French section at SMK 1900-1930. In the centre the artwork (Omfavnelsen / The embrace) by Picasso (1905) in gauce/watercolor. I tried to make the man and women hard to distinct, who is who. Is it a man with his hand on a woman's breast, or is it a woman with her hand on the mans breast? These two figures, are 'sourrounded' (or embraced, or in a succession) with three other artworks exhibited in the same rome. These are: (i) Still life with Door, Guitar and Bottles 1916 by Pablo Picasso, from the period where Picasso painted pictures imitating collage; (ii) A sculpture by George Braque: Metronome (1909) and (ii) another sculpture of a music instrument by Henri Laurens (1919). Hereby, a still life and cubist modernist forms contrast the soft forms of the gauce drawing in the centre. This was when Paris became the new center for modern abstract art 1900-1930.E

I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
