About The Artwork

She is known as one of the tallest in the world. Her name is Karri. She is one of the few remaining Look-out trees from the 1930(s) -1960(s). She carries a huge responsibility on her shoulders, as well as the tree house cabin, higher up in her canopy. The metal rungs forming a ladder, can still be seen spiralling up her magnificent trunk. Her striking appearance is enhanced by her "broccoli" hair style, that in turn, forms a moving picture of stark shadows about her person when the sun streams through the sculptural foliage. She is now a notorious tourist attraction which keeps her "alive" and steady in stature.
