About The Artwork

In this painting i also used the unprepared cloth as a journal of it's washing off the glue, to the finished painted version. However, after some initial gestural brush strokes with gesso that shaped the dragon, i dripped black ink to the background. I used these drops as heads, seen mailny from above, to shape by writing interacting women figures, sort of performing rituals. The same phrase is repeated over and over again while painting, "what do you need? - τι έχεις ανάγκη;", in both english and greek. I also used dotting to fill shades to the body of the dragon, who floats among human like stars, filled it's body with stardust.

I consider art as a malfunction of the brain, a moment where you are aware, disoriented from your feelings space and time...everything looks the other way, doing what was supposed to and you stand there all alone, far away...away from your self customed cage. Art happens when you gaze at the view out of your thoughts and feelings that the bars of the cage blur and gradually melt under the blinding light of freedom.
