About The Artwork

(From the series: Thoughts on the Characteristics the Literature of the Future Should Have, or Not) Installation: schredded book inside a wooden box, typewriter, 21cm x 800 cm paper, 300 footnotes Dimensions variable "Perder teorías" tells the story of Samuel Riba (Enrique Vila-Matas’s heteronym), who wrote a literary theory to explain the features that future literature should have. Those five features are: literature as an advancing clock, “intertextuality”, connections with high poetry, predominance of style (not the plot) and the conciousness of a ruinous moral landscape. Vila-Matas used these five features in the writing of "Dublinesca". I use "Dublinesca" to destroy itself and create a new work of art according to these five features.
