Imprefection Installation - Limited Edition of 10

- What/ who inspired the work? Traditional Kashikari (kind of a mosaic art) ceramic technique inspired me to design the idea - What do you hope its viewers will feel/ think? Kashikari designs are usually designed in geometric designs which represent perfection. My idea is to make “perfection” “imperfect” and appreciate the beauty of imperfection. I wish people could feel the beauty of imperfection, as humans we expect perfection in everything and everyone. But there is a certain beauty in being imperfect. - Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, and style? I have chosen this medium because Kashikari is a dying craft and one of the reasons is the inflexibility towards the design of the craft as beautiful as Kashi craft is. It needs to be reimagined and recreated so it can move on and progress as an art form. Using a 500 years old traditional technique, that once was a symbol of perfection and now is not as perfect anymore, as the quality is deteriorating. I wish as an artist that this craft doesn't fade away. And using it is an attempt to bring it to artistic spaces.
