Definitely the most resolute of my artworks, the Portrait which she deserves is a love letter to my fianceé and to art itself. Let the instantly noticeable, sheer amount of thought and care devoted to creating this piece be the measure of my affectation to both. As I do with most of my artworks, this one is as well combining the modern, specifically technology and traditional, which defines the composition. The artwork is of furniture scale. On top of a wooden structure sits a plaster cast of a young woman, decked out with a wig, necklace and decolletage made of feathers, all in elegant pinks. The figure is enclosed in a 3D frame and illuminated with a colored image of itself by a media projector fitted inbetween the frame and the base. The projector is calibrated perfectly with two mirrors in front of it set aslant to each other. They reflect the image in such a way, that the plaster cast is lit evenly around its form, which is then modelled in a painterly way through color differentiation and chiaroscuro. Also, the image pulsates with moving grain which creates the illusion of a film reel rolling in front of our eyes. facebook.com/subskryba „Very sour painting, it rubs the palate and weirdly sates the eyes – I think it’s due to the peculiar colors.” ~ A.G. Such a comment which treats only about such a trivial themed depiction as a local cliff. How so? I simply think that painting amounts to a feast for the eyesight which in order to get satisfied needs colors and forms. D i s t i n c t ones. And proportional. Not mud’n’mess.
