About The Artwork

This paintography shows a woman almost entirely covered by a tattoo behind which she seems to disappear, the tattooed motif taking over the model's body. Only the face and part of the legs are still visible, but there is nothing to say that they will not eventually be transformed into an artistic or graphic motif, thereby completing the disappearance of the character under his second inky skin. This painting is a unique piece made in mixed technique on canvas and combining photography, digital composition and acrylic paint (glaze and relief square). It is framed in a black wood (total dimensions: approximately 41 x 26 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
