Every morning, I would wake up with a knot in my stomach, dreading the moment I would have to face my reflection and all the perceived flaws of my body. This pressure had been ingrained in me since I was only 12 years old, bombarded by society's unrealistic beauty standards - starting with that infamous Calvin Klein ad featuring Brooke Shields. My daily routine consisted of harshly judging myself through weigh-ins and obsessively monitoring every bite of food that went into my mouth. I kept these rituals secret, fearing judgment from others. For over three decades, I punished myself with strict diets and starvation, constantly chasing the impossible goal of weighing "100 pounds," or what I saw as the benchmark for "invisibility" and therefore success and desirability. But now, as an artist, I use my talents to express my thoughts and emotions on canvas through digital sketches and code. This special collection showcases unique prints on aluminum, each one personally signed by me - the artist behind the message. And with each purchase made, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to either the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) or YWCA USA - two crucial organizations dedicated to empowering individuals and promoting body positivity in our society. My intention with this collection is not only to heal myself but also to inspire others to do the same through art and open conversation about body image issues.
