About The Artwork
“Mirror, my beautiful mirror” belongs to the series “The Queen” which deals with the question of power in its different aspects through the figure of a queen. This artwork of course refers to the tale "Snow White" and the evil queen who never stops questioning her mirror to find out who is the most beautiful. Instead of a mirror, the queen here looks at her own crown, as a metaphor to speak of the deep narcissism that animates many of those who hold power, the latter being supposed to reflect a flattering image of themselves and reassure them . This paintography is a one-of-a-kind artwork created in mixed technique on canvas and combining photography, digital composition and acrylic paint (glaze and lightly golden squares in relief). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 126 x 76 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
