About The Artwork

This is a portrait of Slate who was rescued from the BLM prison by Banditas Wild Horse Promise Group and now is living his life free. The original is donated to the Banditas Wild Horse Promise Group for a fund raiser to help support the non profit. I love to help those advocates who are making a difference.

I have been painting and drawing since I can remember. I was even a Fine Arts major for 2 years before I realized that it would be very difficult (pre internet, well, even now) to make a living. I actually am a web developer for a living. I hope to be able to when I retire, create my art and be able to sell it. I love the pastel medium because of the brilliant colors. I love paintings with brilliant saturated colors like those of the sunset and sunrise. Seascapes also allow for the play of drama in the light and colors whether it is a day seascape with cerulean skies or a sunset/sunrise or a night time seascape. I lived in Florida for years on the beach and all over the state. Most of my seascape paintings are inspired by Florida seascape and the sunrise / sunset on the Florida coastline. I started two series on horse, mainly wild mustangs. I am a crazy crazy horse lover and what is happening to our wild mustangs is such a shame. The BLM has them on a path to extinction of the wild mustang as they now exist in the wild. They have reduced the numbers to so low that the small herds that remain are barely genetically viable. Check out The Eyes Of Series and The Majesty of Series.. I worked on landscapes and seascape with preference on the seascapes for over a couple years and then I discovered that I loved to paint the wild mustangs in their freedom. I now have been painting mostly horses. After all, I do have two (The Eyes of Whisper) and am one of those crazy horse people. I do, however, offer custom pet paintings. Contact me if you are interested in having a special painting of your beloved pet!
