About The Artwork

This picture is about abstracting to the essentials. Perception lies in the interpretation of the viewer. Abstraction can lead to changes in color, structure or style, for example, but also to changes in characteristics, even to the complete dissolution of the reference to the object. It is the mystery beyond experience, beyond the representational, expressed with colors and forms, fantastic and yet real, out of a strong intrinsic motivation. Everything else is superficial, meaningless and pure decoration, to quote Picasso. from the series People She transports the deep feelings into the outside world, where people are often the focus of her expressionist paintings. She finds it incredibly exciting to express all the feelings she associates with them, the mood, the atmosphere. She leaves secrets to the painting. Is she running away and if so, why? Or is she running towards someone? A logical consequence is the unconscious use of color - with bold, spontaneous brushstrokes. Every single one can be seen, every single one can be felt. Every single one is a statement.

Grown up close to Munich in Bavaria, in the melting pot of the expressionism (Blaue Reiter). I worked as a Creative in the Marketing Business. Since 1996 I am working as a self-taught artist in my own studios in Gaimersheim/Germany and Mallorca/Spain. Conveying the deep feelings of the inner imagination is the start of her painting’s creative process–which always has the people at its center. Momentary impressions, which have memorized and which are the basis for the painting process. Layer by layer sensed, elaborated, viewed, but also rejected and re-developed. Every layer, even if it seems hidden, remains an important part of the painting, strengthens the expressiveness, conveys profundity, and always opens up new, not yet discovered.
