About The Artwork

Art Lee Bivens is a huge aviation enthusiast and has achieved elite status in the aviation art world. In 1996, Lse was hired by Lockheed Martin Aerospace to be their official F22 Raptor artist. In fact lee was commission to paint an original oil named “Spirit of the Raptor”. In 1998, the US Air Force asked Lee to become an official AF artist which has taken him to AF bases around the world. This is a masterful and original portrait of Charles Lindbergh. A true legend in the aviation world due to his remarkable solo transatlantic flight in 1927. This painting is a very high quality oil painting and very realistic considering there are no few color photographs to assist. Art Lee did an excellent job in estimating realistic color. He wanted this painting to look like it was from that era so he maintained a very controlled color palette. This piece was created for a one man art show at the Atlanta Airport over a decade ago. It has remained in Lee’s personal collection since. #CharlesLindbergh #LuckyLindy #Transatlantic #Aviator #aviation #ArtLee #LeeBivens
