About The Artwork

I found an amazing image of Addax antelopes running in the Namib desert. Their white and black colours contrast so delightfully with the orange of the sand. The image is from a 60s animal annual and the slight deregister and over saturation of colours adds to the otherworldliness of the picture. needless to say these animals are endangered as we take their habitat, hunt and shoot them. My process explores the wonder and love humans have for animals, and I use the word humanimal to encompass it. I try not to use any new materials apart from glue and paint to make my work. This is to minimise any impact which I have on the environment. This miniature piece has a timeless feel and is finished to a high standard with a brass mirror plate. Great as a present with some depth of communication intrinsic to it.
