The gesso panel was prepared by hand 'old fashion style' with the layering of gesso and then sanding back. On top of this a further surface, also with gesso was sculpted & prepared, which indicated and composed the piece in process. On top a base of oil paint and then a subtle layering of glazes to give definition to surface whilst providing depth in contrast. The painting changes subtly as you move around it due to the glazes and texture surface prepared. Water. landscapes and voyeurism re-occur in my abstracts and I believe these recent ones have been influenced with my time spent in Spain.
