About The Artwork

This is my description - “Another Brick in the Wall”- This song by Pink Floyd remains timeless. Apart from this song there were an host of other factors that inspired the creation of this work, from a photograph seen somewhere on the net to images imprinted in my memory of factories that lay abandoned from Cleveland OH to Bombay India. Beautiful structures that survived the test of time only to also tell a story of the unemployed proletariat, businesses gone bankrupt and a growing uneasiness among people. Clay was the fascinating new medium that I enjoyed working with, giving a 3D effect of the roots, to look like Mother Earth is reclaiming her own to cover up the scars of human cruelty! Clay, oil & acrylic on canvas
