This painting is framed and is wired for hanging. The dimensions I listed on this site are for the actual image within the frame. The dimensions don't take the frame into account. The actual dimensions of the frame are 31.5 x 49.5 x 2 inches. I was inspired to paint this scene when I was by Santa Monica beach. I was walking out of a restaurant and then saw this painting in my mind's eye, as I observed the beach. As I worked on the painting, the meaning of it took on a whole new significance, and the obvious title that came to mind was "Back to the Origin." Humanity is returning to the initial state of around the time of the Big Bang, when there was total harmony and tranquility in nature. This state was before the Earth was corrupted by human beings; today we witness this corruption of our planet as crime, violence, nuclear radiation, nuclear waste, and pollution. This was a time when the Earth was untouched by the destruction and chaos that only humans are capable of perpetrating. Most of all, Kabbalistically, our selfishness and negative thoughts are equally as bad, if not worse, than what we see as in its manifested form of physical destruction. Especially hating each other for no reason is the cardinal sin in Kabbalah. Oil on canvas has always been my chosen medium, since I was inspired by my master art teacher Monique Baudaux to follow this artistic path since the 1990s. My style is impressionist. Many have stated that my paintings remind them of a combination of Monet and Renoir. This is no coincidence, since I highly admire their work and style.
