About The Artwork

"He is , who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye."- Buddha This surreal portrait of His Holiness Dalai Lama XIV, Tenzin Guatso inspired by the Buddhism philosophy and the cycle of reincarnation. He is a man of world peace and he is the endless ocean of compassion and unconditional love. His holiness, describe himself as a simple Buddhist monk. He is a spiritual leader of Tibet. Following the Buddhist belief in the principle of reincarnation, the current Dalai Lama is believed to be able to choose the body into which he is reincarnated. That person when found , will then become the next Dalai. Lama. 'Reincarnation is not exclusively Hindu or Buddhist concept, but it is a part of the history of the human origin. It is a proof of the mind streams capacity to retain knowledge of physical and mental activities. It is related to the theory of interdependent origination and the law of cause and effect." -Dalai Lama This painting was created in collaboration with the incredible artist Mark Sloper

ALEVTINA CARAVONA is a Contemporary London based artist.

Having grown up in Ukraine and Russia, Alevtina moved to the UK at a young age to follow an illustrious career as a fashion model and stylist. She trained at the University of Marangoni with a degree in Arts and Fashion Styling with a focus on graphic design and art history. She then studied painting at Heatherley’s School of Fine Arts, in Chelsea, London.
Alevtina's work is heavily influenced by the Old Masters style, starting with pencil and charcoal sketches resulting in fine and detailed paintings, in the Renaissance style, but with contemporary subject matter and Pop culture influences and subjects. Alevtina also does digital artworks and limited edition fine art prints which have the same finish as her paintings in real life.
In her oil paintings, she uses the traditional way of Old masters techniques such as dramatic ‘chiaroscuro’ and underpainting. Her elaborate finished paintings often incorporate many layers and mixed media techniques including the use of crystals, gems, diamond dust, gold, silver leaf and neon. The end result is a beautiful mash up of Religious Iconography, Renaissance style painting and Pop culture.

Alevtina believes that, “Art feels like an infinite field of possibilities, in which I would like to project to others around the world” If you have any enquires about her artworks, pricing, commissions, exhibitions etc. Please don’t hesitate to DM @alevtina_angel on instagram or contact her via email: alevtinacaravona@yahoo.com
