About The Artwork

The curse of the Bambino began in 1918 when the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees. The Red Sox had won 5 of the first 15 World Series and then experienced an 86 year drought before David Ortiz "Big Papi" with his team on his back, snapped it in 2004. I always felt some pain for Red Sox fans throughout my life after watching them come so close to a championship a number of times. It was classic baseball spirituality that lifted that team in 2004. Remember, they came back to win from a 3 game to zero deficit to the Yankees in the ALCS. Papi would lift the World Series trophy 2 more times after his epic run in 2004. He was the World Series MVP in the 2013 season.
