About The Artwork

Lewis Brian Hopkins Jones, known as Brian Jones, (1942 - 1969), is a British multi-instrumentalist. Icon of the 1960s, he was the founder and multi-instrumentalist of the Rolling Stones, a group for which he played from 1962 to 1969. Originally a guitarist and harmonica player, Brian Jones masters many instruments, and on many tracks he integrates instruments that were then uncommon in rock and roll such as the flute, the dulcimer, the sitar or the mellotron. The culmination of this expanded instrumentation is reached in the 1967 album Their Satanic Majesties Request. It considerably influenced the music of the Stones in their period 1962-1969. It is one of the symbols of the decadence and revolution of morals of the 1960s. The Stones' original bassist, Bill Wyman, said of Jones: "... He started the band. He chose the members. He named the band. He chose the music that we played. He found us gigs... Very influential, very important, and then he lost his power little by little - extremely smart - and he ruined it and it all went away. » Brian Jones joined the club of 27 music figures who died at the age of twenty-seven, such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, or Amy Winehouse.

I am a passionate Dutch portraitist who lives and works in France (Blois). I paint personalities and people who touch me, inspired by their talent and vision of life. My paintings are a tribute to these artists of all kinds, authentic, pure and, in my opinion, talented. I started with figurative Portraits. Now I am experimenting with pop art and contrasting colors. I like to work in series: Forever 27, Jazz musicians and singers, Impressionist Painters, Pop Music Stars, French singing and musical artists. I am happy to share these portraits with you and invite you to discover them here.
