Mixed media, on wood panel, no frame, floats off the wall 1.5”. I tend to paint what is concerning me at the time and this is no exception - it’s not always about a pretty picture. We have major issues in our country and we must not stick our heads in the sand. It’s now evident that we have lots of, so-called, Americans that strive to divide us in order to destroy the USA. The country I grew up in and love. Instead of segregating everyone into groups depending on race, gender, personal opinions, etc, (that’s what communists do), we should remember that this country is a melting pot and we’re ALL in this together - we are strongest with numbers. That’s the inspiration for this expressionist painting.

"My acrylics/mixed media work is on wood or canvas and my style leans to the expressionistic side - even my landscapes. Often I like additional texture in my work and sometimes I also add other elements, i.e. copper, barbed wire, newsprint, etc. - it helps me get to the heart of the matter. Painting gives me a means to express myself and what is on my mind, even if it's a little bizarre and/or whimsical at the time! Since I was born and raised in America, many times my work translates to an American persuasion. However, the way the world is shrinking, I expect the rest of the planet may also relate to the message that's in much of my work. One thing for sure, it's a crazy mixed up world we live in - I think I'm, going to need a lot more paint."
