About The Artwork
In this oil painting the focus is on nature and its beauty and this is also my inspiration. I love to use nature as my inspiration because there are always new colours, new combinations and new scenes. In this painting the background is smooth and calm with soft colours. Just some interactions of black lines which emphasize the calmness. The strong and contrasting black and orange catch the viewers’ attention and give the painting its original touch, like the thin splashes of paint which I have done in the end. However, it remains simple in the colour scheme and thus conveys silence and tranquillity. Here the viewer is invited to discover a personal sanctuary, to find his own memories and balance. At the same time, it can just bring joy and a smile because of these wonderful colours. As everybody has different feelings, the viewer is invited to take a second look and use her/his imagination to make my painting complete.

Sabine Kay is an abstract artist, born 1964 in Hamburg, Germany, and now living in Luxembourg. She has always had a passion for art, but rediscovered this only some years ago. And now, with the kids getting older, she is moving into a new phase of her life: an art-life. In the beginning she worked realistic, but over the years she learned that in abstract art she could better express herself. While painting she is building the oil colours layer upon layer with a colour palette ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating.
