About The Artwork

COL RAISER Val Gardena's prized pasture, beckons with its beauty. Geisler Peaks, Stevia, Sella Group, Sassolungo's Molignon and Sciliar, all commanding attention. Nestled amidst the majestic Dolomites, Col Raiser whispers forgotten tales. Its rugged peaks scrape the heavens, while tranquil meadows lay beneath, a patchwork quilt crafted by nature's hand. A symphony of colours unfolds with each season. Spring emerges, and alpine meadows bloom with a riot of wildflowers. Autumn ignites mountainsides, flames of red and gold ablaze. But beneath this idyllic refuge lies a world veiled in legend. Whispers of mythical beings drift through valleys, secrets carried on the wind. Mystical encounters and wonders untold, an enigmatic trail that lingers in the air. Within the Sella Group, giants once roamed, indulgent and mischievous. Legend tells of Langkofel, a prankster tormenting valley dwellers. His thieving ways provoked action. Denying guilt, he was forced by the council to sink into the earth. Still today, his hand rises defiantly - a reminder on Mt. Punta delle Cinque Dita. I traversed these sacred lands, where the past dances with the present. A pilgrimage for the daring soul. Thank goodness places like this still exist - untouched by modern diffusion.

I’m a visual artist and lifelong musician. I was raised on a working farm in country NSW Australia, with wide-open spaces, motorbikes, animals and endless adventures. I graduated from the Australian Institute of Music in 1998 with big dreams of a music career, so I set sail into the night. Music led to many adventures all over the world, however, the urge to paint became overwhelming. In 2003-2005 I completed a diploma in Entertainment Design at Enmore Design Centre majoring in Illustration. I was on the enigmatic path to being a professional artist in 2006 after being accepted into the National Art School, however, I veered out of my studies to pursue my musical endeavours. For the next 15 years, I travelled the world; performance and adventure - I've lived on a remote Caribbean island and busked for bread in Scotland. In 2019 I toured nationally supporting Icehouse whilst playing the guitar for Do Re Mi. My art and music have always been entwined. Painting has inspired change and changed my perspective on what is possible. Painting is in my blood. I followed in my father and grandmother's footsteps. In 2020 I began to seriously dedicate my life to the appreciation and study of the natural world via the discipline of oil painting. Today I am a dedicated full-time artist living in Canberra. I’m a bushwalker, a skier, and a dusk chaser. I paint my interpretation of Australian landscapes, real and imagined. I employ a variety of flat brushes and palette knives. I like to use bold colours and impasto techniques to express the energy and feel of a subject. I set out to present my subject matter with hints of intrigue and mystery; keeping forms loose and possibilities endless. I yearn for the painting to perpetually transform and evoke dialogue even after its completion. The allure of art resides in its capacity to stir emotions within an individual. Bearing this in mind, each stroke of my brush is imbued with transparency, freedom & responsibility, and an authentic aspiration to encompass beauty, whether it be sombre, vivid, or pleasing to the eye. Every waking moment is spent creating, painting, learning, networking, maintaining socials & my sales platform; my website www.beobe.com.au In March 2022 I spent 3 weeks in New York City exploring the masterworks and walking the MET, Guggenheim and MOMA gallery floors. In June 2023 I studied and hiked the Italian Dolomites. I viewed some of the greatest art ever created in Rome, Florence and Bologna.
