Copper line on red Painting

After several years of creating both two-dimensional and three-dimensional in which the appearance of metal was shown to us through many other materials, with which the artist investigated autobiographical experiences through subtle oxidations generating luminous turquoise greens, Lerin is served in this new series titled 'Life Line' ('Linea De La Vida') of a more color palette diverse, returning to the pictorial texture that has characterized her during years. The work 'Copper Line On Red’, belonging to said series, explores the visual and conceptual experience of the line as a metaphor for life, as the path we trace, the line that continues, separates, and unites. In this work the 'Line of Life' appears as the vertical element assembled in the center of the composition, some will see it as an element 'that unites' and others will see it as an element that ‘separates'. Like everything in life, “it depends on the color of the glass you look through.” Silvia Lerin's works invite reflection, painting is for her a slow process and its textures are a good example of this, made through transparencies and pictorial washes of numerous layers that make it a very personal texture since it is the time itself in the process that has gone through them. This work, like all those in the 'Life Line' series, exudes optimism and color and refers us to life, the one that when we think it ends that's when it starts. This work has a wood vertical assembly painted in a light copper paint between two screwed canvases. So if shipped it could be sent in two dismounted canvases for easier shipping, one of those canvases would be attached to the vertical wood assenbly. The work comes ready to hang.
