About The Artwork

Cotton Candy is a triptych made of 3 individual 8x10 canvases: You're Not Alone, Waiting, and Compassion Robert Rausenberg's art was groundbreaking for its use of found objects and everyday materials. He famously said, "I think a painting is more like the real world if it's made out of the real world." Inspired by this philosophy, I create abstract paintings that incorporate scraps, hand-written messages, and markings, breathing new life into discarded materials and infusing my work with a unique sense of depth and meaning. This original artwork is a celebration of the creative process and the power of art to inspire and ignite change. With its vibrant colors, intricate textures, and captivating message, it is sure to become a treasured addition to any collection. Experience the raw energy of this graffiti-style mixed media artwork, which seamlessly blends abstract expressionism with recycled materials. The canvas is brought to life with a dynamic color palette, bold marks, and a special handwritten message that reminds the viewer that they are not alone. The powerful message of solidarity adds a personal touch to the artwork and invites the viewer into a deeper understanding of the piece. This abstract expressionist study is the perfect size for any room, from a child's playroom to a sophisticated living space. The use of recycled materials adds a unique texture and character to the piece, highlighting the beauty of sustainability and the art of repurposing. The bold strokes and vibrant colors capture the essence of graffiti art, creating a visually captivating composition that is both edgy and playful. This artwork is more than just a visual statement, it's a reminder that we all have a place in the world and that we are not alone in our struggles. Whether displayed in a home or office, this unique piece offers a powerful message of solidarity that is sure to resonate with viewers of all ages.

Amy Smith is a self-taught contemporary artist born in New Jersey who moved to Los Angeles in 2005. Inspired by the Street Art movement surrounding Los Angeles, she found mentoring and support within the community. Activism is an important part of her life and influences her work. She incorporates empowering phrases and words in her collages with the intention of creating a conversation to encourage action in a powerful and fun way. In her mixed media portraits, Amy creates hand cut stencils and utilizes recycled fashion magazine pieces. These magazines represent her love of fashion but contempt for excessive consumerism. By ripping these pieces up and creating new powerful work, she aims to offer a decision on choosing your own path of empowerment and leaving what society demands aside. In addition to her canvas work she has been adding neon elements to some pieces on wood exploring a new series of contemporary art.
