About The Artwork

This art peace on canvas, I sought to capture the vibrant essence of nature intertwined with the raw emotion of freedom. The canvas comes alive with a symphony of bold and vivid colors, echoing the lush beauty of the tropical forest. At the heart of the composition stands a solitary figure, a man immersed in the midst of this verdant paradise. His presence exudes a sense of liberation, as if he's found solace and joy in the embrace of the untamed wilderness. With each brushstroke, I aimed to convey the exhilarating sensation of being truly free – unbound by societal constraints, liberated by the boundless expanse of nature. The dense foliage envelops the scene, its rich greens contrasting sharply with bursts of fiery reds, oranges, and yellows. These colors pulsate with energy, echoing the vibrant rhythms of life within the forest. Through their interplay, I sought to evoke a sense of vitality and dynamism, mirroring the endless cycle of growth and renewal found in nature's embrace. Every element in the painting serves to underscore the theme of freedom – from the sinuous contours of the trees to the play of colors and shapes through the forest. It's a celebration of the primal urge to break free from the shackles of routine and responsibility, to heed the call of the wild and revel in the sheer joy of existence. As the viewer gazes upon the canvas, I hope they too will feel the exhilarating rush of freedom wash over them. For in this vibrant tapestry of color and form, I've endeavored to capture not just a moment in time, but the essence of what it means to be truly alive – to be one with nature, and to feel truly free.

As an artist I represent the planet. In my work I portray nature’s growth as well as the habitats of its residents. In presenting a tropical subject, I intend to give the viewer a perspective from not only a different climate zone but also other human beings as individuals. I am Nabil Gharsallah, born in Cologne-Frechen/Germany in 1995 to a German mother and a Tunisian father. Regardless of the difficult living conditions of people, sometimes among environmental disasters, my paintings are full of the joie de vivre and promise a sunny future. The paining technique I use is one of the oldest methods to paint - Gouache on Canvas and Paper. “For me, painting is a medium to express my message of freedom and tolerance. With powerful and contrasting colors and shapes, I create a diary with feelings, wishes and dreams.” My pictures shine from the inside out, and I capture people and moods in bold colors. There is magic in every picture which I use as my own individual signature, regardless of what people want to see. It symbolizes the beauty of emotions, freedom and love! The intense, radiant blue also has a personal meaning for me. In one sense, the blue points to my origins–the Mediterranean sea. The colors of this region and its light have shaped and inspired me since my childhood. In another sense, the color blue has a deep spiritual meaning for me: The blue embodies the the sky and the infiniteness of our possibilities. It is symbolic of imagination and our longing for a better world. The strong blue puts the viewer in a state of dreaming and leads one to an inward, serious view. Decidedly, the viewer should experience nature in blue. Such as B. Yves Klein with his blue-monochrome pictures represent some artists of the art history put the color blue at the center of their art. Wassily Kandinsky, the among other things in the artist group "Der Blaue Reiter“ - “(The Blue rider)“ participated, wrote in 1910 his famous book "About the spiritual in art" - "The tendency of blue to Deepening is so great that it becomes more intense especially in lower tones and more characteristic internally. The deeper the blue gets, the more it calls to him people into infinity, awakens in him the longing for the pure and finally supernatural"* (Lit. Kandisnky, p.92). But the origin of the symbolism of the color blue can be found in ancient Egypt. The Egyptians saw in the deep blue of the life in the water and the divine in the immeasurable blue of the sky.
