The alarming head of a harpy eagle is magnificent to me and inspired the left hand panel of this diptych. The right side is a young hooded vulture, it looks so gentle and thoughtful, that I was moved to make a painting of it. The wood was found in Penzance on the dock and the fishing tackle spinners which hinge the piece were found along the foreshore. It is a miniature as animals are often sidelined and forgotten, much to their detriment and in the end ours too. Humanimal is a word i use to define my practice as I reflect on what humans subject animals to.

Tim makes work about the division, opposition and collusion between animals and humans. Drawing, performance, assemblage, film, collage, oil painting and the re-use of materials and objects is central to his work. Tim won the Ovalhouse prize at Chelsea College of Art, and Gloucester University prize at the Open West in 2015. He is a member of the committee of the Newlyn Society of Artists. Has exhibited in Berlin and Baku Zdonov in the Czech Republic and is represented by Daisy Laing, Penzance, Avalon in Marazion and Jupiter Newlyn.
