There was no plan or picture in mind when I started this watercolor. The page was wet and I applied the prussian blue to the wet paper and by discipline kept it to a minimum. I dripped pure alcohol onto the wet watercolor and that caused the pigment to part in circular forms. I enhanced this and the painting took on a seascape feeling. To emphasize the sferes or bubbles, I added white gouache to keep the form. I think the painting gives a dreamlike feeling combined with a seascape, hence the name "dreamscape". The work is in a private collection in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I am an practicing architect with my wife- SM!T ARCHITECTS (www.smitarchitects.co.za) I am also a professor in architecture- teaching masters students in architecture, University of the Free State, South Africa. However, I've been drawing and painting since childwood and do it as a hobby today. Inspiration is mainly derived from the natural landscape as well as character studies. Similar to architectural investigations, I like exploring abstract forms and experiments.
