About The Artwork
The painting is inspired by a photo that I took in 2002. We were a group of young people that took a sleep over train, to view the solar eclipse from Tzaneen, a town situated in the north west of South Africa. That year there was a great drought and the once majestic Crocodile River was a small stream. This had a hug impact on the economy system and communities along the river that get their water from it.
